AskMeAnything!
This is my second month working for AskMeNow.com, and it will be my third month this coming November. Well, it’s been a blast! The people are fun and nice, and the work (so far) is interesting and exciting…
Exciting in the sense that you have to get everything answered within 3 minutes, so there’s always the thrill of finding everything within the time limit, although there are certain questions which you’ll find irritating to answer, like a person asking who they are! For example, a guy named John Smith would ask a question like, ‘Who is John Smith?’ when it’s obviously him and he just wants to test the system. It’s easy when there’s like a lot of John Smiths on the Internet, but then if it’s an unusual name, like a foreign name such as Vladimir Stanislausky for instance (believe me, I got those questions sometimes), it’s extremely hard to find info on it and it frustrates the hell out of you to look for it when there’s none, and those that actually are there you cant understand the info since it’s in a foreign language!
The last question I answered that was hell to find was a particular French magazine’s distributor (I forgot the magazine name) … And the website that probably contained the answer to that happened to be in French, which I do not understand a word of… because the only French words that I know are ‘Bonjour’, ‘Merci’, ‘Au Revoir’, ‘Je’ Taime’, and ‘Voulez vous couchez avec mois’ (Did I even spell that out correctly?)!
Oh yeah, I still remember the one of the most difficult questions I answered: the flight distance from Bora Bora to Bali. I didnt know where Bora Bora was, so I had to find out where it was located first, and then searched for some sites that would calculate flight distances. Apparently, there was none that could calculate from Bora Bora to Bali. And so then I tried looking for flights from Bora Bora to Bali (apparently there werent any flights from Bora Bora to Bali). In short, I didnt find the answer to the question, and it became my longest answer time– 20 minutes!
Some questions are easy enough to answer, though. Like cheapest flights, weather, movie schedules, driving directions (as long as the appropriate address is there), sports scores…
And I must say, I’ve actually learned a lot of weird things because people send out weird questions like:
Why do men have nipples: because they’re mammals!
What food cant cats eat: dog food! (this is actually for real!)
Foods with negative calories: could help you lose weight because they take up more energy to digest than there are calories in them.
And…
Did you know that TEABAGGING and SALAD TOSSING are actually words with sexual connotation?
I thought that TEABAGGING just had something to do with getting a Lipton Teabag and submerging it in hot water to produce tea, and that SALAD TOSSING had something to do with tossing green leaves for making salad.
Apparently….
TEABAGGING — (from Wikipedia)
Teabagging can also refer to a man placing his testicles on another person or object as a practical joke. This is sometimes known as cat-braining, after the appearance of the scrotum. Teabagging is inflicted on a sleeping or unconscious victim, and usually involves the man placing his testicles on the recipient’s face or in his or her mouth. Photographs are often taken of this pose as a part of the prank in order to further humiliate the victim. This practice can potentially backfire when the victim unexpectedly wakes up and clenches down upon the “teabag”.
As a sexual practice, “teabagging” refers to a man dipping his testicles into the mouth of his partner as a form of oral sex; thus he was “teabagged”. Sometimes teabagging is taken to specifically mean the act of a male stripper repeatedly tapping and grinding his testicles into a woman patron’s forehead. In this case the woman was “teabagged.”
SALAD TOSSING –
a sexual act involving anal-oral contact
A common prison act where one person basically chows asshole with the help of whatever condiments are available. (I.e. jelly, syrup, olive oil, etc.)
All I can say is….
Whoa!
The weird things people ask…
… and the things that you find on the Internet!
